Aktuelt Museum closed for hanukka and christmas 23. December 2024 The museum is closed from December 23 to January 6 In the Jewish calendar, Hanukkah is celebrated from Kislev 25 to Tevet 3. This year, in the gregorian calendar, this will be from December 25 to January 2. That means the two holidays coincide. In Norway, many of the Christmas holy days are public holidays, such as Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. The museum will have its last opening day on Sunday 22. We open again on Tuesday, Januray 7.We are entering a year of many commemorations. 2025 marks 85 years since the invasion of Norway during WWII, and 80 years since the liberation of Norway - but also of Aushwitz. At the same time, 2025 marks the 100 years anniversary of our Trondheim synagogue, and 120 years anniversary of the Trondheim Jewish Community. We are very much looking forward to commemorating these events, and are also eager to show the public more of what we are working on - and what our plans are for the future. We wish everyone who celebrates a happy holiday. See you again next year!
